Awards
Throughout the year, various awards can be won by our
members. Listed below are those awards and entry requirements.

| The
Dennis Frost Award is for the 'Best in show' at our Spring Exhibition. This award
is open to full members only. |

| This award was introduced
by Kay Seear to encourage new associate
members to exhibit their work at the Spring exhibiton. |
|
|
 |
Held
at the March meeting, the drawing award
was introduced for the year 2000 for
all members. Entries are limited to
one picture per artist. The entry can
be of any subject and size, so long
as the artist has created the work in
monochrome, using any instrument other
than a brush. The work may be framed
but can be presented unframed which
is suitably protected with plastic film.
The winner receives a silver plated
cup which they may keep for a year. |

| This award, an engraved silver salver, is presented to the winner of the best framed work in the Autumn exhibition. All exhibiting members can qualify and the salver is retained by the winner for the following year |

| The
Tom Groom award is held at the November
meeting and is open to both associates
and full members. The requirements are
that one painting may be entered by
an artist, using any media, but must
be painted with the particular theme
as stated in the yearly programme in
mind. There are no size limits for paintings
entered for this award. The artist whose
work is chosen by the judge at the time
as the winner, is presented with a cut
glass obelisk shaped award which they
can keep for a year, and a certificate
which they may keep. |
