Colin Clark

My Interest in art began when living in Zimbabwe Africa.

During my education, although art was part of it, I had no real passion for art then.

Africa for me was the spark and at 17 I moved to Zimbabwe with my parents.

Zimvbawe for me, was the begining of my art.

Returning to England after 2 and a half years of working as a mechanic and experiencing Africa, I began putting my memories down on paper in the form of watercolour and ink drawings, as well as pastel. This over time (some years) developed into my own style.

I'm not one to go out into the field and draw, but rather go out into the field... look.. take some photo's.... come back home and create what I have seen. For me; this way invloves ones intuition and creativness.

I do not have a problem with using photographs for reference, as long as I have taken the photo, it is then part of my art.

In 2002 I was lucky enough to be able to exhibit and sell at the Royal Society of Marine Artists exhibition held at the Mall Galleries in London.

You can see more of what I do at my own website : www.clarkarty.com
